I can’t believe that GoTasks is still working for me in iOS 12, and I know it’ll break someday. There’s no comparison between the two (or the feature-less Google Tasks app made by Google). “GTasks” is the best alternative, but it is completely missing so, so many of the great features of “GoTasks” It’s an app that hasn’t been in the AppStore for several years but that I use on my phone & ipad constantly (it’s my most-used app). The official Tasks app in iOS is horrible. I and our groups are replacing google products unless somehow productivity can be maintained by its users.īecause this an audience of hardcore Tasks users who are mourning yet another Google ball-drop, I’m looking for a decent backup app for Tasks for iOS. > WHY CAN’T THE CANVAS PORTAL just stay without upgrades? to force us to use an INFERIOR upgrade. – Most disappointing, the screens when click add task, and OK or cancel, literally takes visual slow motion for the screens to come up and disappear, many times showing the old/new side by side. – There is no longer anyway to past multiple items, like 5 days of the week, and have it create seperate items. – There is no longer anyway to transfer items or groups to differnt lists. – There probably is not convient print option that produces usable sheets. – The items are not easily moved or moved in groups. You see so few items per screen (14 items vs 32 in the same height), and the columns are too narrow. – The tasks are not in any order, random. – This is NOT EFFECTIVE if you use more than 5 lists as the scroll bar is horrible. If you have any more points to add also let me know there. If you have any other ways to contact google, let me know here. I Have submitted to google throught the Help / Feedback area. Google is in a termination spree currently the company plans to shut down Google+ in April for consumers, the classic Hangouts, the Google URL shortener, and the messaging app Allo. Good news is that Tasks is not going away completely and that Google Tasks users can continue to access their tasks on Gmail or Calendar (or the mobile apps) at least for now. Lack of use could still mean that it is used by quite a few users considering that Google's definition of lack of use is different to the definition that smaller Internet companies may have. The most likely explanation is a lack of use most Tasks users probably use it through Gmail or Calendar, and not through the standalone version. Google does not reveal why it is closing down the classic standalone web version of Task. Users may install the app on their devices to continue using Tasks. Mobile devices: The Google Tasks application for Android or iOS remains available.Just open Calendar and select Tasks on the right side to open the interface. Calendar: The standalone web version of Google Calendar supports tasks as well.Gmail: Gmail users can open the Gmail web interface and select Tasks on the right-hand side (underneath Calendar and Keep) to open the interface.

Preliminary storyline ideas included boarding a shuttle and making a daring assault to get back to Earth. In No Remorse, the Silencer could carry no more than five firearms at once in No Regret, this restriction was lifted entirely.Ī third game in the series (with a working title of No Mercy) was never released, possibly because Tony Zurovec of the Crusader team left Origin and joined Wing Commander creator Chris Roberts at his new company Digital Anvil, as well as Origin refocusing its efforts on Ultima Online. No Regret added several new weapons and death animations, including freezing (and subsequent shattering) and two different kinds of melting. Weapons, ammunition, credits ( No Remorse's form of money, which does not appear in No Regret), healing facilities, and other equipment is scattered through the levels, allowing the player to upgrade their arsenal. The geography of the setting encourages the use of tactics and combinations of moves in order to hit the targets effectively with the minimum possible loss of resources No Regret added a handful of new maneuvers to the original game, including the ability to dive forward, and to sidestep while crouching. Most of the environment can be destroyed by weapons fire, providing a previously unprecedented level of setting interaction, and some traps or defenses can be manipulated for use against the enemy. As well as, all locations have alarm systems, which can be triggered by the aforementioned bystanders, security cameras, weapons fire, and other conditions, such as destroying a security door setting off an alarm will bring down significant military presence, and the player is encouraged to avoid triggering them, or deactivate them as soon as possible if set off. There is an additional incentive to kill unarmed bystanders present in No Remorse, as the player character being able to loot the bodies for credits which are used to purchase better weapons. Settings vary from military bases to factories to offices to space stations, and contain a variety of enemy soldiers and servomechs, traps, puzzles and innocent bystanders (who can be killed with no penalty). The Crusader games are divided into missions, each with their own locations and objectives. Like many Origin games, both No Remorse and No Regret shipped with significant in-universe back-story material, including a fold-out propaganda poster, newspaper and a guide from the fictional Resistance. These conversations are generally one-sided, as the player character never speaks. The Crusader games feature Full Motion Video (FMV) sequences with live actors FMVs are used in cut-scenes to further the story, generally through interaction with other characters. The soundtracks for both games were composed by Andrew Sega and Dan Grandpre of the now-defunct Straylight Productions. Each mission and intermission level has its own track. The game's audio uses a specially made engine, called Asylum Sound System, which employs MOD files rather than General MIDI, in order to provide good quality without relying on expensive hardware. Both games use an advanced version of the Ultima VIII isometric view engine featuring full SVGA graphics. (The slightly lower-cost standard version is for phones only.) We capture video every day with our phones, but can we improve what we capture? The Smoovie Pocket Video Stabiliser has been designed to do just that. What motivated you to get started with Qbserve?Īfter our gaming startup closed in December 2014, we started looking for freelance work to build up a new financial cushion outside of the game development space, which had become too crowded and offered scarce remote jobs. After two and a half years, Qbserve earns around $2,000 each month and has over 4,000 users. So the app's core audience is individuals who want to track their productivity or work hours privately - and not because their boss ordered them to install tracking software. The other important distinction is privacy: Qbserve logs all your browsing and document history, but none of this ever leaves your Mac. Unlike a majority of our competitors, the app doesn't have any team features and instead focuses on providing the best individual time-tracking experience. The studio has picked up some new clients in 2016, including Tick Tock Tea, Samsung and Kelloggs, and finds its biggest challenge is finding talent that suits the studio and its way of working. This new addition shares the same ethos as the other branches, and work is shared between studios. This year saw the opening of its New York studio, which had been in the pipeline for a few years. “There was a hole in the market, tens of millions of players were looking for something to play, and we felt like we can do that,” adds Wilson. There was method in the apparent madness since none of these friends had ever put together a game studio before. “We felt that Diablo 2 players were looking for something newer and we thought, somewhat naively, why don’t we make that game?” says Wilson. Essentially, a massive tuning to the various reward weights and structures has been done across the board.Above: Path of Exile springs epic visual moments into the action-RPG gameplay. Seriously, there are a ton of changes, but they’re mostly focused on making older experiences relevant in the current environment. In addition to all this, many aspects of previous content offerings have been tweaked, going all the way back to Sacrifice of the Vaal. There are new items that can only be obtained via Ultimatums and even a new boss to find for the endgame explorers. While it’s essentially just making choices on whether to do harder and harder stuff in sequence, players do have some agency in selecting what demons they will have to endure by being able to select a modifier before diving into doom. It’s a simple mechanic, but will inevitably lead to some amazing gambles that pay off - and some that don’t. Ultimatum is all about risk and reward, letting players gamble with their victories for increasingly more valuable and powerful prizes, but also with harder and more dangerous enemies to defeat. If a taste of what’s in store for Path of Exile 2 isn't enough, GGG also laid out the plans for the upcoming expansion, Ultimatum. Rather than a fully linear structure from point A to point B, players make several choices about what encounters and areas they will tackle at certain points, all tied up in story facets like moving a caravan across the desert. Players are also going to have more choices as they move through the campaign. Another important but subtle change in Path of Exile 2 is improved animations. For instance, the use of a flask now has a visual effect to let the player know the effects are active, which is very helpful for knowing when a buff is active. While there is certainly a limit to how fancy you can craft boss encounters that need to be soloed without any specific class requirements, variables like using the environment or responding to enemy cues are certainly going to be embraced here. The new campaign in Path of Exile 2 features seven brand-new acts to engage with, and each area’s miniboss is designed to be more engaging than some of the boss encounters in Path of Exile that might just be a “bigger” monster with a skill. With the new weapons and skills, combat is being designed to be more responsive, even at the earlier levels of the game. The new crossbow weapon comes with skills inherent on the weapon, so you’ll have to have the kind of crossbow associated with a special skill in order to reap the benefits. Path of Exile 2 features weapons that have their own special abilities. All current characters and purchased microtransactions are compatible with Path of Exile 2. If you’re set on playing the original Path of Exile campaign, don’t worry: the special stuff that you can only get in the Path of Exile 2 campaign is available in the shared endgame experience. However, Path of Exile 2 features a new campaign alongside new weapons and associated abilities that are only available if you play that experience. Path of Exile 2 shares space with the current Path of Exile as both adventures lead to the same endgame experience. They have a strong metal build and provide some very good design ideas at a very affordable cost. We have therefore chosen the… VideoSecu 2 Heavy Duty Adjustable Speaker Stand. But for us, we are going to choose a pair with more adjustment options than the others. There are some very good solid stands we’ve reviewed. What do we want from monitor stands? But this stand needs to be secure and stable and be able to do what you want it to do. Some have some extra features that are impressive. That might mean an extra bit of work if you go for a tripod. On the other side, they don’t have very efficient cabling management. Tripod stands take up much more floor space than simple base stands, but they tend to be more stable. One issue you will need to decide is how much space you have for your stands. If you don’t have this, you could end up with cabling all over the place. Some stands have hollow central columns that allow you to put cable through. Getting Your Cables TidyĪ tidy studio is a productive studio therefore, cable management can also be an issue. It helps the monitor to sit in a stable position and also reduces any potential rattle or vibration. A secure fit on the platform is also important. You don’t want them to fail, and your expensive monitor crashes to the floor. But those height adjustors also need to be secure fittings. The height of the monitor needs to be where you get the ‘near-field’ experience right. Stands that only offer a certain number of positions which may be many inches apart can not guarantee this. Therefore precise adjustment is very important. Ideally, the center of the tweeter of your monitors needs to be exactly at ear height while you are seated. If not, it could move around or, at worst, be easily knocked over. If you are placing tall stands on a carpet with some pile, you will need the spikes. With some, it is spikes and/or rubber or plastic feet. Most have some form of aid to ensure they won’t wobble around. However, if you use a stand, it has to be right. Some prefer the speaker’s place on the desk or console, but most agree that placing monitors on stands will produce the best sonic results with the least reflections. Getting the position right will depend on how you place your speakers. The idea being the closer you are to the monitor, the better your perception of the actual sound. It is a way to sit closer to the monitors, which may reduce the sound of the room influencing what you hear. Near field monitoring is popular in studios. Is this Important? Ask a studio engineer who mixes tracks, or is setting up an EQ. But it can alter your perception off how you hear it. Well, it can’t alter the sound coming out of the monitors. Will only really suit those that have space for a wide tripod stance.īest Studio Monitor Stands Buyers Guide Can a Monitor Stand Really Be That Important?.
